The dinner was held at the  Mindemoya Missonary Church.  It was spearheaded by a group of Doctors and Nurses who will be traveling to Haiti in January as part of a medical team.  The congregation sponsored the dinner by purchasing all of the food.  Huguette Ray, a Haitian Canadian who is a nurse living in Mindemoya, cooked the Haitian portion of the dinner .  The meal was typical for Haiti:  rice and beans, plantains, and chicken.  The remainder of the meal was cooked by volunteers.  Two volunteers, Laura and Debbie, will be traveling with the Mindemoya Team to Haiti in January.  They baked the Haitian desert Pain Patat.  There were 85 RSVP for the event and 120 were expected.  At the end of the evening over 160 people were fed and the event raised $5400.   Further donations after the event led to a total of over $7000 raised by the Mindemoya community.

Haiti Village Health is thankful to the people of the region for their support.
